Animal Activity

Now that many animals are coming out of hibernation, you’ll begin to see more animal activity in your neighborhood. With your safety in mind, it will be crucial to keep an eye out for these critters on the road. Especially deer who are most active during dawn and dusk.

Rain, Hail & Flooding

According to the Federal Highway Administration, rain was a culprit of 46% of all weather-related crashes from 2005 to 2014, and wet pavement in general accounted for 73%. Rain, hail, flooding and slippery roads reduce your car’s handling and increase the distance it takes to stop up to 4 times the average stopping distance. And don’t forget about the dangers of hydroplaning. Take it slow!

Winter Road Damages

Between snow plows, salt, sand and all the winter road wear & tear, you are bound to experience some battered roads. Potholes are especially dangerous this time of year. Keep alert & avoid any of these hazards the best you can.

Bicycles & Motorcycles

Not only are animals coming out of hibernation, but road cyclists & motorcycles are starting to come out in full force. Be sure that you do your part in keeping the roads safe. Check twice!
